Our Story
In 2018, we asked ourselves a question: Can we use our accounting knowledge to support US clients 10,000 kilometers away?
Seven years later, we run three companies, employ a team of 20, support more than 100 accounting practice owners in the US, and work with 500+ small businesses worldwide.
NextGen Academy exists to show others from our region that this path is real.
Meet Anastasija - The Accountant
Anastasia has 15+ years of accounting experience and leads the financial operations for all three of our companies. She personally manages client relationships with US businesses, closes the books, handles compliance, and trains our team.
In NextGen Community, she teaches exactly what she does every day: US GAAP standards, QuickBooks workflows, legal compliance, contracts, and how to position yourself as a trusted advisor, not just a bookkeeper.
She’s not teaching from a textbook. She’s teaching from her laptop, between client calls.
She teaches the accounting course and leads the weekly Bookkeeping School sessions.”
Meet Tony — Sales and Branding
Tony handles everything on the business side: finding clients, building partnerships, closing deals. Over seven years, he’s brought in 500+ clients for our companies using LinkedIn, cold outreach, and strategic partnerships. In NextGen Community, he teaches accountants the most important skill: finding clients. By sharing the actual messages, how to set up your online presence, and the outreach sequences that landed real US clients.
If Anastasia teaches you how to do the work, Tony teaches you how to find the work.”
He leads the LinkedIn Workshop and handles sales strategy in the community masterclasses.
How NextGen Academy Was Born?

We started as a back-office support team for US accountants. Working with some of the best practices across the US we learned the standards, and what Americans expect. Two small offices in Macedonia, a handful of team members, and a lot of trial and error.

We stopped being the back-office and became the practice. Books at Ease is our US-registered bookkeeping firm, serving American small businesses directly. This is where we learned what it really takes to win and keep US clients.

After training our own team for years, we realized others could benefit from the same system. We packaged everything: the accounting knowledge, the sales methods, the tools into courses and workshops for accountants across the region.
500+ accountants from the Balkans and beyond. Weekly practice sessions, masterclasses, Q&A with us, and a job board connecting trained accountants with US opportunities. This isn't just a course, it's a network.
What makes this different?
We’re not teachers. We’re business owners who decided to teach.
We still run the businesses we teach about
NextGeneration Company, Books at Ease, and NextGen Academy are all active. We’re not teaching from memory. We’re teaching from this week’s client calls, this month’s challenges, and this quarter’s growth.
Our team does this work daily
The people teaching you are the same people serving our US clients. Anastasia teaches accounting because she does accounting. Tony teaches sales because he does sales. Everyone you meet in NextGen Academy is actively working in their field of expertise.
Bookkeeping Community
The feedback we’ve received so far: “learning isn’t enough. We need practice and ongoing support.” We delivered. We created NextGen Bookkeeper Group. When you join, you’re not alone. 500+ accountants from the region learning together, practicing together, and helping each other land opportunities. Weekly sessions, ongoing Q&A, and direct access to us.”
Real job opportunities
We get requests from US firms looking for trained accountants. When we do, we post them in the community. Our goal is to create a pipeline: you get trained, you get connected, you get hired.
7 years working with US clients
What We Believe?
The Balkans and Adriatic region have incredible accounting talent. The only thing missing is access. Access to knowledge, to connections, to opportunities. We’re building the bridge.
